Capital letters are easy! All capitals start at the top, occupy the same vertical space, and are formed with simple lines and curves. Lowercase letters occupy three different starting positions and are more difficult to form because they require a continuous stroke sequence. When children learn to write capitals first, they develop top-to-bottom and left-to-right formation habits that will set them up for success with lowercase letters.
