- Understand the Handwriting Without Tears Pre-K–5 curriculum and the Print Tool assessment by completing a self-paced, open book, multiple choice exam.

Prerequisites
No matter which pathway you choose, you must successfully complete the following workshops in-person or virtually prior to seeking certification. These include Readiness & Writing for Pre-K, Handwriting Without Tears Print, Handwriting Without Tears Cursive.
Pathway 1:
Self-Directed Certification
Most Flexible | Requires Independent Completion
Ideal for professionals who prefer a self-paced path.
Step 1: Attend Required Workshops
Step 2: Complete Handwriting Certification Workshop (Virtual)
Step 3: Complete Certification Requirements independently after attending a virtual Handwriting Assessment Workshop.
- Score and remediate using a provided case study using the Print Tool
- Pass a multiple-choice test
- Deliver an in-service presentation and provide feedback forms
- Complete all certification application forms
- Submit payment for background check ($195 fee)
Step 4: Submit Your Certification Packet
Submit materials for review once requirements are complete.
Pathway 2:
In-Person Certification
Hybrid | Structured | Certification Completed In-Person
For professionals seeking a guided, collaborative certification experience.
Step 1: Attend Required Workshops
Step 2: *Complete Handwriting Certification Workshop (In-Person)
Step 3: Complete Certification Requirements During In-Person Workshop
All requirements are completed within the facilitated workshop.
