General

I have questions about workshop topics or am having trouble ordering a workshop online?

  • Call 402-492-2766 option 4, we are open M-F from 9 AM to 5 PM ET for assistance.

What types of payment do you accept?

  • We accept credit card, check, and purchase order (must be a signed and approved PO, not requisition).

I’m registered for a workshop but want to cancel can I get a refund?

  • If materials have not been shipped, or the workshop link has not been provided, you can cancel your registration and receive a refund, minus a $35 cancellation fee.  Alternatively, we do offer one courtesy transfer to another available date.

I need accommodations for an upcoming workshop who should I contact?

  • For accommodation needs please call our office 402-492-2766 option 4, we are open M-F 9 AM to 5 PM ET to or email coordinator@lwtears.com to request.

I’m interested in professional development for my school or district who can I contact?

Are your workshops eligible for continuing education credits?

  • We provide contact hours for our workshops.  For AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association), they can be transferred into CEUs, but it is at a 10 to 1 ratio.  For every 10 contact hours it is 1 CEU.  If you are submitting your hours to another organization, you will need to check with them to see if they accept our hours and if their ratio might differ.

How do I access the workshop I just purchased?

  • An email will be sent from coordinator@lwtears.com once the order is fully processed.  Our offices are open 9am-5pm EST and orders will be processed during office hours.

Will I receive a certificate for on-demand workshops?

  • We offer a certificate of attendance with contact hours just follow the instructions in the login email you receive to advise once you’ve finished viewing the topic.

When will I receive information regarding the workshop I am registered for?

Virtual

Do you provide materials for virtual workshops?

  • Majority of our virtual workshops do not come with any physical materials.  The Handwriting Assessment workshop is the only one that currently comes with materials that are shipped.

I’m registered for a virtual workshop but am not able to attend the session live do you offer recordings?

  • All live virtual sessions are recorded and available to review for 30 days following the live session date. Alternatively, we do offer one courtesy transfer to another available date.

In-Person

Why are the prices for your in-person workshops different than the virtual workshops?

  • Due to the logistical cost of holding an in-person workshop, plus the addition of materials there is an added cost versus our virtual options.

I’m attending an in-person workshop when will I receive information regarding this event?

  • Location information can be found in each workshop page on the website. Workshop details are emailed from coordinator@lwtears.com 2-3 business days prior to the workshop.

I’m supposed to attend an in-person workshop but am not feeling well or have been exposed ot COVID-19 what should I do?

  • If you are unwell, we do ask that you stay home. You can call our office at 402-492-2766 option 4 or email coordinator@lwtears.com to find out available options related to your registration.

Certification

I’m interested in becoming a Certified Handwriting Specialist what are the requirements?

Do I need occupational therapy experience to become certified?

  • No, you do not need OT experience to become certified.  However, you will need experience with the Handwriting Without Tears program to pass the requirements needed to become certified. 

I cannot find my Certificates of Attendance; do you have records of attendance?

  • We do have records for Nationally Sponsored Workshops from about 2001-present. For school/company sponsored workshops please contact our office to review eligibility.

Is there a time limit for applying for Certification?

  • No, the Handwriting Specialist Certification process is considered a self-paced study, so there is no time limit.

During my Handwriting Assessment Workshop, the presenter mentioned a website I could find information/presentations on handwriting topics where do I find that?

  • Our advocate page contains in-service presentations, downloads, and latest research on topics from Pre-K readiness, K-5 handwriting, and keyboarding https://www.lwtears.com/advocate You do have to complete a short form to request access, typically granted within 48 business hours.
