Countdown to National Handwriting Day!

It’s almost our favorite day of the year! National Handwriting Day is coming up on January 23.

This year, we’ve developed a special program encouraging children to learn and appreciate the art of writing. Learning Without Tears is partnering with VetAdvisor® to launch Supporting Our Sailors at Sea. This new program gives children the opportunity to practice handwriting skills by writing to deployed servicemen and servicewomen on an aircraft carrier, thanking them for their service, offering words encouragement, and asking questions.

If you’d like your students to participate in this adventure at sea, register your class here. You’ll be able to get interesting facts about the ship, and download letter writing tips, and suggestions. VetAdvisor will ensure all letters make it to the sailors on our adopted ship, the USS John C. Stennis, and we hope to share photos and videos from the ship!

Why participate in this program? It offers your students:

  • A chance to connect to and thank people who serve our country
  • Handwriting practice
  • Letter formatting practice
  • Language arts skills

We look forward to sharing your letters!
