How do I assign licenses to educators and students?
License assignment depends on who the license is for (educator or student) and how your account is rostered.
License assignment depends on who the license is for (educator or student) and how your account is rostered.
Manual or Bulk Upload accounts: Licenses are assigned in +Live Insights®.
Clever or ClassLink accounts: Licensing is completed in the initial sync for Clever or ClassLink users. Additional educator license assignments can occur in +Live Insights® if the educator has been included in the Clever or ClassLink sync using the instructions below.
Assigning Licenses to Educators (Manual or Bulk Upload)
To assign or update an educator license:
Go to the Admin Console.
Select User Management.
Find the educator and select the three dots on their user tile.
Click on Manage User Products.
Use the Assigned Products section to assign or update licenses. Note: For Clever or ClassLink users, additional licenses may be assigned, but changes to licensing cannot occur here.
Save your changes.
Licenses can be assigned when inviting a new user or after the user has already been created.
Assigning Licenses to Students (Manual or Bulk Upload)
Student licenses can be assigned in two ways:
Option 1: Assign Licenses During Class Creation
Create or edit a class in My Classes & Students.
When you reach the Assign Products step:
Choose to assign licenses to the entire class or individual students.
Select the appropriate product from the dropdown.
Move the slider from Unassigned to Assigned.
Confirm and create the class.
Option 2: Assign Licenses to Existing Students
Go to My Classes & Students.
Click on your Class.
Select the three dots next to the student’s name.
Choose Manage Student Products (or equivalent license option).
Select the product and confirm assignment.
