Lily Howard Scott is a social and emotional learning (SEL) coach and literacy consultant. She teaches in the Continuing Professional Studies department at Bank Street College of Education and provides professional development to teachers and school leaders around the country. Her work is centered on helping children navigate their inner lives, connect with each other, and imagine varied perspectives.

Lily presents regularly at national conferences. Her writing about the importance of a child-centered, holistic approach to teaching and learning has been published in Edutopia and The Washington Post. For nearly ten years, Lily taught elementary school in both public and independent settings.

Cheryl holds a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership, distinguished educational leader, and has been recognized with multiple awards for her achievements. She served as the lead curriculum developer for Learning Without Tears’ Get Set for School’s Language and Literacy curriculum, which received an AEP Distinguished Achievement award. In 2017, Cheryl was awarded the Investor Bank’s Educator of the Year Award.
