Cristina Gonzalez is the principal of PS 94 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY, where she has served since 2018. She began her career as an early childhood educator at PS 94 and has since led the school in building a culturally and linguistically responsive community grounded in belonging, equity, and high expectations. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Cristina holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, as well as a second master’s degree from Bank Street College of Education. Under her leadership, PS 94 has developed innovative supports for students and families, including community partnerships that address both academic and essential needs, helping to create a school environment where all members of the community can thrive.

Cheryl holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, is a distinguished educational leader, and has been recognized with multiple awards for her achievements. She served as the lead curriculum developer for Learning Without Tears' Get Set for School Language and Literacy curriculum, which received an AEP Distinguished Achievement Award, and was awarded the Investors Bank Educator of the Year Award.
