Biography
Arielle is a third-year Occupational Therapy Doctorate student at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois Springfield and an Illinois Professional Educator License for grades 1–6.
Arielle has experience working with individuals with a variety of needs through her fieldwork experiences at SIU’s Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic serving primarily preschool children, the Evaluation and Development Center serving young adults with special needs, and a 12-week school-based occupational therapy fieldwork experience. During her school-based experience, she worked with students from preschool through junior high, gaining valuable insight into the unique developmental and educational needs of children across a range of ages.
With a background in both education and occupational therapy, Arielle understands the academic expectations and everyday demands students face in the classroom. Through her experiences, she recognized a need for accessible handwriting instruction and support to help students develop this essential skill. She is passionate about helping children improve their handwriting while helping families and educators better understand the underlying skills that contribute to handwriting success.
Arielle believes that handwriting is more than just putting words on paper; it is an important tool for learning, communication, and self-expression. Her goal is to help each student build the skills, confidence, and independence needed to participate more fully in the classroom and experience success in their everyday learning.
